Create a Healthy Home Environment
Our homes are often full of accumulated stuff. Stuff bought at the market, antique shop, cute stationery from the artist co op, that lovely dress not worn for the last seven years, kitchen cupboards, wardrobe cupboards filled to the bream.
Can’t find anything, but can’t let it go. It just might come in handy one day. If you are feeling like that sometimes, isn’t it time to give you environment a spring clean. Be firm with yourself, everything that has not been used for the past two or three years consider ditching it. Make room for the new. Clean out all cupboards, desks, pile of clothes, kitchen. Bring fresh air and rejuvenate your home.
Now that also goes for relationships that are holding you back in life. Negative energy, constantly arguing, feeling down. Is it time to rethink who you want in your life and how they will enrich your path?
It’s time to create a healthy, home environment.
Create a Daily Cleansing Routine
Take a few moments at the start of each day for an extra cleanse. In addition to the functions most people complete in the morning etc, try these extra tips.
Rinse or splash your face with cold water from the tap. Blink your eyes several times and gently massage the lids with your finger tips.
Treat yourself to a gentle oil massage mainly for the face, ears and arms using sesame oil. Rub the sides of your ears with your index finger and middle finger to energise channels along the ears.
Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Encourage the body and mind to be prepared to get a good night’s sleep. Wind down and minimise any stimulating or provocative films. Enjoy a cup of hot milk with ground almonds, dates, and black pepper. Nourishing and tasty.
And for that extra treat rub the soles of your feet with a little sesame oil to stimulate points on the feet to help the body settle for a good night’s sleep.
Unclutter Your Mind, Focus
How often do we feel distracted, confused and agitated? Spend more time on planning your day, thinking through the things you need to complete. Make a list that you can tick off as you complete each project.
Check to see that you are doing things that are important, otherwise you can spend precious time working on the items of little value, and then find you have run out of time to complete the important things.
This helps to unclutter the mind, become clearer on what you want to achieve and more settled in yourself because now you are focusing on important items in your life to complete.
Cook Healthy Nutritious Meals
Take time to eat well. This means take some time to prepare your meals. Most of us live very busy lives, rushing from one point to another, which leaves little time for cooking. But this is a mistake.
We need to take time to cook and buy healthy food to cook. The reason is that when we are rushed and don’t provide our body with the nutrition it needs we lose focus. There is a connection between our behaviour and quality food.
Buying beautiful, fresh produce from a market is an enjoyable experience. Give it a try. Start to plan to make a home cooked meal once or twice per week. Prepare a menu, buy the food and cook it yourself.
When you give time to yourself for such a lovely experience you are creating an environment of health.
Remake your Kitchen Cupboards
Isn’t it time to clean out the kitchen cupboards and throw away all energy sapping products. No more white sugar, dehydrated packets of food, colourings, preservatives and stale items.
Replace it with energy goods, foods and natural products including a variety of spices for cooking.
Take a Distraction Break
We all live in a 24 hour cycle whether it’s mobile phone, computers, news cycle, entertainment, to name a few. We are constantly connected to some form of electronic gadgets. All these eventually take some kind of toll on the body and mind.
To allow your mind and body some renewal time trying living once a week for half a day without your mobile phone, or make a ‘non computer’ day.
Use that time to go for a walk in some beautiful park, or by the seaside if that is available to you. Take time to renew and rest your body, your cells, your mind. This is as important as taking time to eat well, live well and live an environmental healthy life.
