Ancient Wisdom for Modern Life, Ayurveda

Modern life has many wonderful activities to offer us but doesn’t leave much time for insight into the principles of natural healing systems.  The ancient healing system of Ayurveda imparts ancient wisdom for modern times, a timely reminder of the principles that are as relevant to humanity today as they were thousands of years ago.  With this knowledge you will be able to discover your own mind body connection, develop understanding how to create a life of balance through simple practices and increase long life, vitality and health.

Typically we are often far too busy, distracted or stressed to take the time to make any real changes to our way of life or diet.  We have a few niggles here or there but until it becomes a problem for us we don’t pay much attention to the circumstances.   As time goes on, there may be a few more niggles, feel low energy, a bit disconnected, but nothing that an energy drink can’t fix.  A quick fix that is.  And not long, maybe the next day or the day after we are feeling drained again.  More aches and pains, stomach congestion, bloating, skin rashes, and then feeling sense of agitation, ill ease and irritability.

Any of this sound familiar?  According to Ayurveda teaching when our body goes out of balance, the signs and symptoms are fairly mild initally.  Why?  Because the mind and body is a connected system, and various elements and tissues that are connected support each other, so unless there is a drastic change in systems in a very short time, it’s more likely to be a gradual change and deterioration.  Rather than look at the symptoms, Ayurveda prefers to look at the cause of problems emerging and is able to give some guidance as to what changes would suit each person on an individual basis.

In Ayurveda teachings each person is born with a certain Dosha, or body constitution.  In its ideal state the body constitution is in balance, and this brings health and feeling of wellness to you.  However due to life changes, influences from the environment, the types of foods we eat and the poor habits that we create throws out the balance of the Doshas in the body and we start to feel subtle shifts and changes.  This would be the ideal time to become aware and take steps to make healthy changes to our diet, lifestyle and discover positive habits.

Ancient wisdom for modern life is discovering with Ayurveda the ancient secrets for knowledge is medicine that brings healing, balance and a good life.
