Timeless Art of Mindfulness at Work and Home

There are many benefits to be experienced when we take time to mindfully live, love,work, study, eat, drink, think, in essence this is Ayurveda, the ancient Science of Life.   According to the Ayurveda medical system what constitutes health and wellness at the level of both body and mind, is balance.  When there is an imbalance in body and mind Ayurveda contains a deep understanding how to restore balance before imbalance leads to disease.  This is the timeless art of mindfulness.

When people loose energy and become anxious, stressed or depressed then we can quite often see this reflected in the state of their digestion and health.

The Art of Mindfulness is a way to develop a healthy life practice where becoming more attentive and aware how we lead  our lives, notice what is useful, what is harmful, helps not only improve health but maintain optimal health and minimises problems.    For example the art of mindfulness in movement, talking, solitude, food choices and eating.

Mindful Movement

How often do we get distracted?  Many things to accomplish, never enough time to complete.  A mindless activity keeps us busy but unfocused  Becoming mindful means choosing.  Choose the activities that are important, not urgent.  Take time each day to prioritise your work, studies, life, activities.  When you start prioritising you will find you will have more time to accomplish what is important, and leave the rest.

Mindful Talking

Notice when talking becomes mindless chatter as this takes a lot of energy that is draining.  Become aware of your conversations, become a mindful speaker and notice the quality of your conversations increase.

Mindful Solitude

Spend 10 minutes each day in mindful solitude.   Find a quiet location, a beautiful environment, whether it’s in a park, by the water, delightfully decorated room, a church, there is no pre requisite except that you take this time for rest and renewal of mind and body.

Mindful Food Choices

Select the best quality fresh, seasonal and organic foods, containing an abundance of nutrition and life energy.  As foods have a direct effect our your body, digestion and state of mind, it is good to remember that we are what we eat.  So take a few extra moments to give  time to selecting food, choose the best and gain the benefits.

Mindful Eating

Being attentive to what you are eating is enjoyable and results in less stress, proper digestion, absorption and tissue development alongside proper elimination to build a resilient body with strong immunity.  Create regular meal times and spend 10 minutes resting after eating to avoid indigestion.

The timeless, ancient art of mindfulness, the knowledge of Ayurveda brings joy and vibrancy to your life, maintains good health and creates change for the better.
